D’Ukes

The Queen’s Theatre, Hornchurch

For this blog you will be getting a view from the ‘Other side’ of the ‘Other stage’ (so called as it wasn’t the theatre’s main stage) as I was out of action with a broken wrist and so consigned to the audience for the evening. This gave me a whole new outlook on the gig and the first thing that struck me was the ‘black and redness’ of the whole area, partly in thanks to the theatre’s lighting engineer, which shouted “D’Ukes”! The audience vibe was warm, with a curiosity about which songs would be aired, and I had fun chatting to some of them. ‘Fly Me To The Moon’ was included at Queen’s for the first time as the audience participation piece at the end and it proved to be a popular song.

I will not reveal the name of one of the other encores, except to say that it ‘turned out nice again’!
